Is it free?
Yes. Lighterate is free during the pilot.
Which email accounts work?
A personal Gmail account, for now. Outlook is coming soon. Work and school accounts aren't supported yet.
What does Lighterate look at in my inbox?
With read-only access, it looks for PDF attachments that look like invoices (the last 30 days, then new mail). It can't send, change or delete your emails. We keep the invoice PDFs, their text and key details, but never your email subjects, bodies or headers. PDFs that aren't invoices are deleted right after the check. More in our Privacy Policy.
Where is my data stored?
Your invoice PDFs, their text and the details we pull out are stored in the EU (Frankfurt). To read those details, we send the invoice text, never the PDF or your emails, to a US AI provider (OpenRouter). We require zero data retention and no training, but that step may happen in the US. More in our Privacy Policy.
Can I disconnect and delete my data?
Yes. Disconnect anytime in the app and we delete your invoices, PDFs, extracted details and mailbox connection. To close your account, email us. Even if you stay, each invoice is deleted automatically after 24 months at most. Your originals stay in your mailbox. Tip: also remove Lighterate in your Google account settings.
Is it for businesses?
Not yet. The pilot is for personal use.
